Grief is not a problem to solve—it’s a process to be held. The goal of technology here is not acceleration, but accompaniment. It should make room for breath, memory, and meaning.
What gentle looks like
Gentle technology is attentive to pace. It does not push you to “finish” grieving. It avoids bright colors and sudden calls to action. It is stable, quiet, and present. It asks for as little from you as possible, and gives as much as it can.
Support, not replacement
No AI can replace a person. We design with that truth at the center. Our tools are companions: they can help you organize memories, listen when you need to talk, and surface comforting threads you’ve already woven through your life.

Calm by default
The interface resists urgency. Animations are slow, color is restrained, and the flow is linear. The writing is straightforward. If you close the window and return later, it will still be here.
Spaces for memory
We’re building features that make it easy to capture and revisit the stories that define a life: not just the hallmark moments, but the everyday scenes that locate a person in the world.
Inclusion and accessibility
- Clear text and high contrast by default
- Keyboard and screen-reader friendly interactions
- Consideration for different literacy levels and languages
Data stewardship
- Consent-first collection with clear ownership
- Simple export and deletion flows
- Minimal, transparent use of AI where it adds care
Gentleness is not an aesthetic preference—it’s an ethic. It’s the only way we know how to build for grief.
